Best Things To Do With Kids In Vienna – Donau Zentrum

Vienna's biggest shopping centre, Donau Zentrum, is the perfect place to play on a rainy day. It's very easy to get to - just 12 minutes from Stephansplatz on the U-Bahn (take Line U1 in the direction of Leopoldau, and get off at Kagran Station). On Level 0, you'll find The Magic Garden, a fun and free playspace for children of all ages. For kids aged 5+, there's a 13-metre tall climbing tree with two slides to bring you back down to earth. Handicraft workshops are held here every second Thursday.

If you need some alone-time, there's also a supervised play centre upstairs called 'The Magic Attic' which features a 3-storey climbing frame and a giant rocking horse. From May onwards, kids can also play on The Magic Attic's outdoor roof terrace. Entry to the play centre is €4/hour, and kids can stay for up to 3 hours. Children must be 3-11 years old to enter, and need to wear socks.

TIP: Become a Donau Zentrum Premium Card holder to receive reduced price entry to The Magic Attic (€3/hour). Sign up here for free, or at The Magic Attic.
