Best Things To Do With Kids In Venice – Giardini Della Biennale Playground

The Giardini Della Biennale, set along the shores of the Venetian Lagoon, was created by Napoleon (who invaded the Republic of Venice in 1797). It's a lovely peaceful park, which has been home to the Biennale Art Festival since 1895. It's also home to a playground, with play areas for both big and little kids. Giardini is a 20 minute walk from St. Mark's Square (go east along the Riva Degli Schiavoni), and you can stop at the Venice Naval History Museum along the way. If you're arriving by vaporetto (Lines 1 and 4.1) , hop off at the Giardini station. For beautiful views of the lagoon, enjoy a coffee (€5) on the rooftop terrace of Paradiso.  The nearest supermarket is an 8 minute walk away - Coop at Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, 1797.

There's also another playground nearby at the Parco delle Rimembranze, just across the Rio del Giardini in Sant'Elena.
